Review Methodology

Our reviews are written to help readers decide whether a tool is useful, affordable, and trustworthy for a specific job.

How We Test

For software reviews and comparisons, we evaluate the product against practical tasks a reader would realistically perform. For AI writing tools, that can include blog outlines, article introductions, email drafts, editing tests, and workflow checks. For productivity software, it can include setup, collaboration, data export, integrations, and pricing limits.

We prioritize the details that affect a real buying decision: output quality, setup time, limitations, privacy controls, export options, plan restrictions, and total cost after add-ons.

How We Verify Pricing

Pricing changes frequently. When an article discusses plan costs, we try to verify pricing against the official product pricing page and include a verification date in the article. Readers should still confirm critical pricing directly with the vendor before buying because software pricing can change without notice.

How We Use Affiliate Links

Some articles may include affiliate links. If a reader signs up through one of those links, The Software Times may earn a commission at no additional cost to the reader. Affiliate relationships do not determine whether a product is included, how it is ranked, or what verdict appears in a review.

How We Handle Corrections

If a reader, product team, or subject-matter expert identifies an error, we review the claim and update the article when appropriate. Corrections can be sent to contact@thesoftwaretimes.com. Please include the article URL, the disputed detail, and a source when possible.
